A thermal transfer machine is a device that transfers a pattern from a transfer medium (such as transfer paper or film) to a target material through heat and pressure. The core process is as follows:
1. The design pattern is processed by computer software and printed in a mirror image on thermal transfer paper or a special film. Mirror image printing ensures that the pattern is in the correct direction after transfer.
2. Use an inkjet or laser printer to output the pattern to the transfer paper. Some processes require a hot melt adhesive layer to cover the pattern to enhance adhesion.
3. Fit the transfer paper to the target material (such as clothing, cups) and put it into the thermal transfer machine. The machine applies high temperature (usually 180-230℃) and uniform pressure through a heating plate or roller to sublimate the ink or melt the hot melt adhesive and penetrate into the surface of the material.
4. After removing the transfer paper, the material cools, and the ink or adhesive layer is firmly bonded to the substrate to form a lasting pattern.

Advantages of using a thermal transfer machine
1. High temperature and high pressure allow the ink to fully penetrate, the pattern edges are clear, and the colors are bright, which is suitable for complex designs and gradient tones.
2. It can be applied to a variety of materials such as cotton, polyester fabrics, ceramics, metals, plastics, etc., covering clothing, household items, promotional gifts and other fields.
3. The transfer pattern is resistant to washing, friction and UV rays, and is not easy to fade or peel off after long-term use. It is especially suitable for high-frequency use items (such as work clothes and outdoor products).
4. No plate making is required, and small batches or even single-piece customization is supported, which reduces initial costs and is suitable for personalized orders and fast proofing.
5. Compared with screen printing, it reduces the use of wastewater and chemical solvents; some processes use glue-free transfer to further reduce environmental impact.
